GENERAL PLAN

The plan outline:

1. Study each product’s market security: its annual consumption, domestic production and its ratio to consumption, which points to the food security level and importation exposure of the product.

2. Communicate with product-specific international organizations to tap into their expertise and experiences and provide global perspective.

3. Connect and collaborate with local experts.

4. Devise a long-term plan for each product with specific short-, medium-, and long-term goals.

5. Establish field-based partnerships with a broad base of organizations and co-ops across Lebanon.

6. Establish a broad network of farmers from across Lebanon as field partners for the long-term.

7. Identify critical parameters that render the farmer’s partnership productive and sustainable.

8. Determine plan’s economic feasibility in all its facets: financial, social, cultural, and strategic.

9. Attend to infrastructure buildup as a project progresses into advanced larger scale stages.
